Restaurant Taverne - Hotel Interlaken

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch at the restaurant. The staff were very professional and didn't stare at us during our meal. The service was the best. The food tasted amazing! We had the pleasure of meeting the chef at the end of lunch. I will definitely be back! After visiting this amazing restaurant, we went to another 3 Michelin star restaurant and were very disappointed.

The restaurant only opens at 6pm. Although I know that there won't be many foreigners eating at 6pm, I still booked a seat in advance. Sure enough, when we finished eating and left, the people who had reserved a table behind us hadn't shown up yet. So, if you follow the Chinese habit of finishing your meal around 6pm, it shouldn't be a big problem if you don't book a seat. Let's talk about the dishes. We ordered a large mixed salad. Because it has nuts, it tastes especially delicious. Even the children who don't like vegetables eat it with relish. The three of us ordered three adult main dishes. Although they also have a children's menu, to be honest, I personally don't like the children's menu because it's not very healthy. It's either fried chicken or French fries, or sausages and fried pork chops. Adult dishes are more particular. I ordered their specially recommended pork chops. They served the pork like beef and cooked it medium rare. Two thick pieces were served, and I really couldn't eat them. The pork is fragrant and tender after roasting, and it is definitely not inferior to beef. My husband ordered "Grandma's Beef Stew", a plate of mashed potatoes, and a separate pot of beef. The beef was cooked very well and served with a mellow sauce. Eating it with mashed potatoes, it was full of pure and meaty flavor. Not to mention the meat, my husband even scraped the soup in the pot clean in the end. I highly recommend it. Later, I saw this "Grandma's Beef Stew" in many Swiss restaurants. It should be considered an authentic Swiss dish. We also ordered bacon rolls and eggs for the little ghost. The portion of this dish is not large, and we think it is just right for children who love meat. Although I didn't taste it, according to my children's comments, it is very delicious. There is an artificial landscape next to the restaurant, which is a Japanese garden and an artificial lake. Sitting at the outdoor table to eat, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while enjoying the food. There are more than a dozen carps in the lake. Bringing the leftover bread from the restaurant to feed the fish is also a childish fun.
